What kind of light bulb are you?

There are all kind of light bulbs out there now from regular to LED to fluorescent, to soft white etc. What kind are you???

I know it’s a weird question to ask… but the Lord put it on my heart as to our witness for Him and are we shining bright for Him in times a dark world? Or are we just blending in and going along with the statis quo , or perhaps our light for Him has been covered up or almost blown out due to burdens, or worries, or whatever may be sapping that joy and making our light for Him grow weaker and weaker?

 

 

We are  beacons of light in a dark world

 

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Philippians 2:14-16 “Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.”

Sometimes life can dim that light…Whether we allow our circumstances, people ,depression, or influences around us at times to takes its toll on us. Instead of refueling or plugging into the One who is The Light of the World, Jesus.

Luke 11:35-36 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light

John 8: 12  I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.

Now I know we will never be perfect as Jesus is, but I long to be so hooked up with Him and spending time with Him, that, I am reflecting that Light of Him. Not of myself, but long for people to see Jesus in me. To be a reflection of Him.

 

We just may never know who is watching us, or all around us, or someone  who desperately needs hope in this world . Do we draw others to Christ or away from Him? When they see us in public, are we shining for Him or are we heavy laden and dark ?

 

Personally I long more for the days that I can be in the bank or a store or a place of business and people have asked me why I am smiling all the time??? Booyah! It gives me the opportunity to tell them why………and because of who, JESUS and the joy of the Lord!  Now believe me, I have also had those days when I know I am not shining bright for Him and that I allow things or cares, or distractions get me irritated or not so nice to be around….but we are all striving on a Daily Basis and desiring to be closer and more and more like Him all the time. It’s a process and He is working in us all the time, if we just submit it to Him..
