Many of us this time of year daydream of cooler nights, campfires, smores, fuzzy socks, pumpkin everything, colors exploding and popping .The scents and tastes of Fall are upon us. There are pictures of everything from decor to recipes, to cabins in the mountains, to get us swept away like a Hallmark movie. The stores are full of everything imaginable to make our home look like something right out of a dream.
I have to admit, Fall is my favorite time of year. I can’t wait to get the cozy clothes ,yummy smelling candles, and blankets out. To get The fire going with a cup of pumpkin coffee or something festive curled up with my favorite book, this is my happy place.
When I started thinking about writing something,, the Lord brought to mind, not only the beauty of what He paints as His artwork enfolds with each season as it changes, but the times and seasons in our lives.
Not only did He appoint times and seasons in our lives and for everything, but for His perfect timing or perhaps even a word in due season, or a period of time or season for change or growth. There is something so much deeper than just the external delicacies and scents that surround us. I wanted to dig deeper into what He was sharing with me. So lets take this journey together…..
SEASONS: GOD’S CALENDAR
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Genesis 1:14
He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. Psalm 104:19
ONLY HE IS IN CONTROL AND GUIDES US: THAT IS TRUST
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: Daniel 2:21
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. Acts 1:7
GOD ORDAINED APPOINTED TIMES
I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. LEV 26:4
Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season. Numbers 9:2
Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season. Numbers 28:2
BLESSINGS THAT COME WITH WAITING ON GOD’S TIMING OF SEASONS
The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. Deutoronomy 28:12 comes with blessings
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:3
These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. Psalm 104:27
And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. Ezekiel 34:26
A PERIOD OF A DESTINED APPOINTED TIME FRAME PERHAPS FOR GROWTH
And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid. 2 Kings 4:16
For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever; Philemon 15
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:1 Peter 1:6
And when they cried unto the Lord, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season. Joshua 24:7
And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. Luke 23:8
And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. Acts 13:11
FOR SIGNS OR TIME CLOCK OF EVENTS TO BE ALERT
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 1 Thessalonians 5
Time and seasons are in God’s hands, we just need to trust that He knows when and what is best. We have to trust Him and the process. Times may be uncertain or unfamiliar , perhaps even painful, but He loves us so much and He is using all the seasons in our lives to melt and mold us . For He is the Potter and we are the Clay. He knows exactly what is best for us and who better to trust the One who made you and designed you for a specific call. To live a life of abundance and wholeness.
Just like a diamond the finished product is beautiful , sparkling and radiant, but the process is hard.
Simply put , a diamond forms when carbon deposits deep within the earth(approximately 90 to 125 miles below the surface) are subject to high temperature and pressure. Some stones take shape in a matter of days or months, while others take millions of years to materialize.
So I encourage you to grasp every season in your life and trust the process…… Capture the beauty of what each season paints in your life.
Remember something so beautiful as the fall foliage is actually leaves going through the life cycle. While leaves changing color in the fall are dying, they are not dead. It cannot take the beauty away. Enjoy and savor the process.

He knows and hears your heart, there is no right or wrong formula. Just cry out to Him…
