“LIVING TO LIVE AGAIN”

Have you ever experienced the death of a loved one, a child, a spouse, a relationship, even the death of a dream you once had? We all experience in our lives something that leaves a hole in our heart or a sense of death in our life. The Lord desires to comfort and bring healing to those areas and restore our hope and joy if we only lay it at His feet.

THE LORD UNDERSTANDS

Isaiah 53:4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows;

2 Corinthians 1:3  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Matthew 5:4  Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Isaiah 41: 10  Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.

Rev 21:4  He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

IT IS NORMAL TO GRIEVE/ TIME TO HEAL

Genesis 37:34-35 Then Jacob tore his garments and put sackcloth on his loins and mourned for his son many days. All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted and said, No, I shall go down to Sheol to my son, mourning. Thus his father wept for him.

Deuteronomy 34:8 And the people of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

2 Samuel 12:16-17 David therefore sought God on behalf of the child. And David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground.  And the elders of his house stood beside him, to raise him from the ground, but he would not, nor did he eat food with them.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:  a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;  a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up ;a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance

WHAT WE ARE TO DO:  RUN TO, NOT AWAY FROM THE LORD

Psalms 77:2  In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord

Philippians 3:13-14  Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead . I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 119:92
If Your law had not been my delight, Then I would have perished in my affliction.

Psalm 119:107
I am exceedingly afflicted; Revive me, O LORD, according to Your word.

Isaiah 41:10

 So do not fear, for I am with you;
 do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
 I will uphold you with my righteous right hand

Psalm 73:26

My flesh and my heart fail, but God is the strength of my heart
 and my portion forever.

OUR HOPE

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Believers Who Have Died

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.  For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.  According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.  For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Psalm 30:5

 For his anger lasts only a moment,
 but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
 but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Psalm 119:50   My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

Psalm 27:13   I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord

Psalm 28:7    The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him

Psalm 94:19    In the multitude of my thoughts within me your comforts delight my soul

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliver;

My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,

My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold
