Okay so promised yall when I try out new products would experiment and try them out for myself and get your thoughts?? Now I am in no way a professional, but a novice at this..
Have been thinking about saving some $$ and doing my own nails..Since I wasn’t blessed with strong or thick nails, but instead so soft and thin can get a string caught in them and would tear them down to the quick… ouch! Have tried many nail hardeners and gelatin, etc. The only thing that actually lasted and loved was acrylic nails. Now I know they are not great for you especially with all the filing down of the nail surface and causing injury can be a result.. So I decided to try out the dip method, which is simply using a resin and then dipping into the powder..So I looked at some you tube videos and decided to give it a try.
Now I remind you I am in no way a professional and the more practice, probably the better it will look. Since my nails are oily I use 2 kinds of nail dehydrator or bond, so I know it will last. I will leave some pics and names of products I used. I will try out different kinds of brands but honestly I have so much acrylic powder that am going to use that up first,
So for all you girls who want to try to save some $$$ on sets and fill-ins you may want to look into this method sometime yourself,,
First I got all my supplies organized and laid out. You may want to do this outside or in a well ventilated room, since the smell of some of the products can be sensitive to some noses. After pushing back my cuticles and getting them ready,
1. I first used ASP Prep N’ Clean Dehydrator which takes out the oils of your nails so the products can bond better.
2 Then I used NSI superbond Nail primer again to make sure all my oil was out of nails, remember I have a lot of oil in them so I used this also to make sure!!
3. After completely dry I then brushed on a coat of nail glue which I don’t really have a preference which brush on glue I use.
4. While it is still wet dip nail into powder which I am using ASP Bonding Acrylic Powder.
5. I shake off excess powder and apply another layer of glue and dip in powder. You can repeat this a few times depending on the strength in layers you want.
6. I then sprayed with ALL Seasons nails Bio set resin activator .Which Amazon is sold out but you can get at Sally Beauty.
After all of this I like to use some good nail files and some buffing pads again no preference you can find them almost anywhere. This makes them nice and smooth to then paint or just clear color. I am loving this new product I found American Classic Gelous Advanced Nail Gel Coat. I apply as a base coat and also over polish and it leaves it so shiny, smooth, and polish tends to last a whole lot longer !!!!!
One of my other favs is Sally Hansen Insta Dry Topcoat. Again it protects from chips and leaves a real nice shine and makes the polish last a whole lot longer!!! It’s awesome when you are in a rush and need your polish to dry like super fast!!!!
Finished results….Again am just a novice and will take practice but it is somewhat easy to try yourself and perhaps save some $$ if you enjoy having some pretty and strong nails like I do. In the beginning all the products cost, but last long and will save you $$ in the long run. Let me know how you like or what u thought or if u might try it for yourself?? I will leave a video on You Tube I saw to give you somewhat more of an idea. Again, she is not a professional either, but it may show you in a better way how u can try it yourself…
Have fun !! In His Love,
