“WORK IT GIRL, WORK IT!!”

Working your BODY, your TEMPLE

Now I can honestly say I haven’t mastered this thing yet. but with the Lord’s help am learning how to eat healthy and live a life full of energy, vibrancy and pleasing to the Lord.

Finding little ways to stay motivated

Been busy learning some food prepping just because it saves a lot of time and gets most of the weekly cooking out of the way. I absolutely love this handy little Aroma Rice Cooker and couldn’t live without this little gizmo. No more having to watch a boiling pot over the stove, but just set and go.

If wanting to measure out food portions or anything, I’ve been using this awesome food scale by Kitrics. Anything that makes life easier I am all for it when it comes to saving time.

For some it could be a food journal, to help with emotional triggers vs. actually being hungry

1 Cor. 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Cor 3:16  Do you not  know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1Cor 6:19-20  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Phil. 3:12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been perfected, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy ,acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service

HAVE FUN AND ENJOY WHAT WORKS FOR YOU!!

For as long as I can remember since I was a pre-teen I have worked out with weights or strength training with my brother. Always have loved it and how strong and healthy it makes me feel. My hubby and I do  Ultra-Fit by John Defendis. It is right up our alley and feel it is a way of living, something we can do the rest of our life. Again I am in no way endorsing , you can look it up for yourself. https://www.facebook.com/ultrafitbydefendis/

It is even better if you have someone to encourage you right along the way, like my hubby does.

I’ve always enjoyed  stretching like Callanetics if none of you are familiar it’s an ex- ballerina who devised exercises like ballerinas do and it feels wonderful! If I feel like my muscles are tensed up I love doing these. I have done these like in my teens and you don’t need any equipment is what’s awesome. You can do this anywhere!!

I am like a little fish when it comes to the water, so I love jumping into a pool to get some exercise too, until I turn into a wrinkled prune or raisin, I have a hard time coming out especially if it’s a hot scorching day!  LOL:))))

I have a friend who loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking to keep in shape while enjoying nature and waterfalls!!

Keep Moving!!!

The point I am trying to make is, whatever you find you enjoy and have fun doing is usually what you stick with. Everyone likes different things and as long as you keep moving that’s the ticket.

Now I understand there are those who feel exercising is a waste of time or don’t like it and I am not here to debate or put you down, please don’t get me wrong. I love you all and am just sharing my heart with you. When I feel terrible and sluggish or unhealthy it dampers me as to doing and being all that the Lord calls me to do in this life.  If I am feeling horrible about myself and tired all the time it stops me from doing that at times.

Not to rule our lives or make it our God

I too believe it’s not to rule our lives but it is an important part of our lives. Our outward physical appearance vs. our inward character.  If you stand in front of the mirror for hours upon hours (LOL) and hurt and put down others than you are not doing it for the right reasons. But if it is to glorify God and to help and encourage others with the Love of Christ than you can be a blessing to someone.

Sometimes our outward appearance can be such a struggle and battle. Especially in a world and society that puts such a high emphasis on the physical. I will share that perhaps for those who have had that struggle and battle and how the Lord can heal those areas. I too have experienced in my past bulimia and overuse of diet pills and starvation, and may write a post about that topic in the future to offer some hope and encouragement to someone out there who is going through that battle themselves right now.

1 Tim 4:8   For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. My relationship with the Lord is #1 always.

The Lord desires us to be healthy, physically, mentally, emotionally

3 John 2  Beloved I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

So let me hear from you what you do to stay in shape, what your struggles are and what helps you ? Would love to hear and share some tips.

As always like to leave a simple little prayer with you, if you have never known the peace that only the Lord can give and desire a real relationship with the One who made and formed you and Loves You with an everlasting, unconditional Love. I encourage You to invite Him into your heart and life and keep me posted so I can encourage you.

IN HIS LOVE,
