“WHO AM I”

“WHO AM I?”

Today we are so fascinated with finding out who we are…with the explosion of ancestry.com or dna kits you can order online to see your dna, your traits and even health markers., etc. it’s no wonder it sparks our interest. We all are so curious to know more about what makes us tick.

I remember once when I went to a new doctor, (way ahead of his time) and had a health screening Dna swab test done. I was so fascinated with the results… He Read my book!! without even telling him my family history.

It showed things to stay on top of and how to better take care of my health as it related to my personal Dna.  Now I am not advocating dna tests in any way. Some people believe in them and some don’t. I will let you be your own personal judge.  It  just was eye opening to me and actually glad I had it done.

Family Trees

Or when people do family trees and search way back in time to find out more about their heritage, which may take hours upon hours or even years of researching.

Even something simple as Our Favorite Color

Looked up my favorite color as regard to what it says about personality? And of course am such a girly- girl so my fav is Pink. It is funny, so much of it is true. How crazy that even our favorite color means something.???

If pink is your favorite color, you are loving, kind, generous and sensitive to the needs of others

You are friendly and approachable with a warmth and softness others are drawn to.

You are the nurturers of the world – you love to give nurturing and to receive nurturing in return.

With a personality color pink, you have a maternal instinct, with a need to protect and take care of others. You also have a need for this caring to be reciprocated as you do tend to neglect yourself in your determination to take care of the needs of others.

You are very much in touch with your femininity – this includes men who are in touch with their feminine side.

You are romantic and sensual and sensitive.

With your optimistic and positive outlook on life, you see the good in everyone.

You are methodical and organized, although you can sometimes be rather flippant when the immature girly side of pink appears.

You are refined, reserved, calm and non-violent which may give the impression of shyness.

You have a naivety, sweetness and beauty about you which can become girlish and immature in some.

You have a youthful appearance, even into old age, looking younger than you really are, even to the point of looking dainty, frail and vulnerable.

The challenge for you is to become more self-reliant and to learn to love yourself, then love and acceptance will be returned to you multiplied.

The Deepest Need of a Personality Color Pink

Your deepest need is to be accepted and loved unconditionally.

Do we really know Ourself?

Sometimes, we think we know ourselves…that may be good or bad depending how our acceptance, self-esteem , of ourself is. It can always be damaged or distorted.  It is always said we are our own worst critics.

Other people can see us differently and see things in us that we never are even aware of. That’s why we have to ask the Lord to examine us….since our own views may be damaged from people, circumstances, our past failures or successes…. and the list goes on and on.

The manifestation of Words Spoken Over us

You may have had so many words spoken over you,, especially negative ones, that you start to believe them. The negative hurtful words seem to make more impact on us….that when people give you compliments…. you still don’t receive or believe they are just being nice or lying.

Are we just a collection of our circumstances?

Sometimes we are just a collection of our circumstances..How we see ourselves are so involved with who we had as parents or as siblings. Where we grew up and under what circumstances and surroundings.

It is so true that we can be completely opposite of our families….but so often you hear…wow u are just like your mother, or your father. Or people say the grape doesn’t fall far from the vine.

There are so many times I look in the mirror or say things or do things, that I can see my dad, or my mom or grandmother in me… It makes me chuckle…

Ask the Lord to examine us?

That’s why it is so important to ask the Lord to examine us and not compare to who and what others are doing.

Sometimes if you ask someone close to you to be honest no matter how it may hurt, can help us see things that we may have to work on with the Lord’s help.

Sometimes, I see myself one way and when I read His Word, the Lord challenges me to be more like Him which is my desire daily.

What does He see? vs what we See?

Our best role model is Jesus. We can compare ourselves with no greater , more admirable example of a person to walk after.

Trying to be something or someone we were never meant to be

Then there are times, to feel accepted, or under peer pressure, we may try to fit into a mold or be something we are not, or were never meant to be.

I remember one day talking with someone who hated his career and you could just see it in his face and actions, and I asked them why are you in that career? They said it was to be expected.. since all their family members were either doctors, or lawyers.

It was just assumed and again a heritage that was just expected in the family. How sad to feel pressure or expectations when we were never meant to be a cheap imitation or replica of someone else, but our own unique person…as we were designed to be.

We have to be true to ourselves and the Lord and ask Him what is it You want to do in my life and purpose and be. We are all created so perfectly, woven in His Hands. and are always and daily being molded and shaped like clay. For He is the potter…..we are the clay. Melt me and mold me .

Philippians 1:6  And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

am a child of God and I belong to Him.

John 1:12 – Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

I am loved by God and nothing can separate me from His love.

1 Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Romans 8:35-39 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am chosen by God.

Ephesians 1:4 – For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.

encourage you today…as I myself ask the Lord to examine me and show to you also how He sees you and heal you and find your true identity in Him.

If you have never known the Lord this way, in a real, personal relationship…I will leave this simple prayer with you as you start a fresh and new beginning with Him and allow Him to mold and make you into what He has for you…

In His Love,
