“YO MAMA”

With Mother’s Day soon approaching I only thought it fair to celebrate my mom . Not only on this 1 day a year event, but to think about what a special lady she is all throughout the year.

Now for those of you that have lost your mom, or for those who have not so nice memories of your mom, I am truly sorry. They say you truly never realize things about that person or appreciate like we should until we don’t have them anymore.

Too many times moms have been the victim of endless jokes..

Yo mama’s so fat, I had to take a train and two buses just to get on her good side.

Yo mama’s so stupid, when she was taking you to the airport and a sign said “Airport Left,” she turned around and went home.

Yo mama’s so ugly, when she joined an ugly contest, they said, “Sorry, no professionals.”

But today I want to celebrate moms.

Proverbs: 25-30

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Ephesians 6:2&3
Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—
3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
Proverbs 1:8&9
8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
9 They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.
Proverbs 23:22
22 Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
Proverbs 22:6
6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
From the very beginning she brought me into this world I knew we had a bond that would never be broken.
My mom shared with me when I was born she had been sick with pneumonia and pleurisy and  I immediately had to be put into an incubator or vaporizer because I had gotten it from her.

My mom was frantic and thought they were lying to her in her state and actually died but was waiting to tell her.  She didn’t get to hold me.
She had an experience with the Lord that day and as she was praying, the sun lit up the room from the window and my mom said a cross formed on the wall from the pane just as she opened her eyes and right then and there a peace came over her and she knew I was okay.
I can remember my mom through out the years, has always been there for me no matter what.. She always was in my corner and always has my back.
She always has supported me in all my dreams and would be there to support me whenever those dreams failed.
She was a hard working, tough woman working multiple jobs along with my dad just to provide a good life for me and my brother.
My mom always made things fun and an adventure
We weren’t rich, but my mom being an artist and very creative, always made things fun and an adventure! Her family was her main priority and would always be the backbone.
She was at every PTA meeting, made costumes for plays we were in and the decorations for every event at school. She was involved in every aspect of our school years!
She was the neighborhood mom that everyone wanted to have and our house was where all the kids came for snacks and fun.
My mom was tough on the outside and would stand up for us no matter what, yet was gentle and compassionate inside.

She loves children so she was always involved with day cares and nurseries, or social work for unwed troubled teens or children camps.
My mom is such a blessing to me and even though we had our years of struggle when I was going through growing pains, I wouldn’t trade her for anyone else.
She is full of life, faith and love.  Adventure and spreading joy was always around her.

Funny times
I remember one dinner she was breaking in a new pair of rollerblades and it was Chinese night and she was cooking dinner in a kumono and roller blades!  Makes me laugh just thinking about it!!!
Or the lady who would stand in line for concert tickets for hours for me while I was at work and couldn’t.
She always seemed to get it all done and I don’t know how?
I thank the Lord that I see so much of my mom at times in myself and could only strive to be the example that she is to us.
Cherish every Minute
My husband and I live in another state now and I cherish the times I do get to talk to her or spend with her and I pray that you always cherish your mom for  years go by so fast!!
So today mom, I want to tell you how much you are loved and appreciated with all my heart.
Happy Mother’s Day Mom.
